Metering Data Provision Procedures

The Metering Data Provision Procedures (MDPP) made under clause 7.16 of the National Electricity Rules (NER) allow customers or their authorised representatives to obtain consumption data from their retailers and Distribution Network Service Providers (DNSPs).

How is the data delivered?

Accumulation and interval summary data formats – the MDPP requires retailers and DNSPs to deliver the specified minimum metering data requirements to retail customers or retail authorised representatives.

Interval data format – the MDPP requires delivery of a standardised NEM12 file format. A retail customer guide is to be made available to help customers understand and interpret the metering data, and explain how usage, generation or controlled load is represented. This information is contained in the file delivered to the customer or authorised representative.

What are the delivery timeframes?
