Established in 2014, Essential Giving is an employee-led initiative that empowers our people to give back to the causes they care about most. Through voluntary pre-tax payroll donations, matched dollar-for-dollar by Essential Energy (up to $1,000 per employee each year), this program is making a meaningful difference in communities across our network.

Through this collective generosity, we’ve raised over $115,000 for the Children’s Tumour Foundation since the program began.

For the Foundation, this ongoing support means more than just dollars - it means stability, impact, and hope.

“It becomes really challenging to fundraise and rely on that funding, especially with the cost-of-living crisis,” says Renee Anschau of the Children’s Tumour Foundation.

“Having reliable income enables us to feel secure in what we’re doing.”

The Children’s Tumour Foundation supports families and individuals affected by neurofibromatosis (NF) - a complex genetic condition for which there is currently no cure. Through research, education, and community outreach, the Foundation is paving the way for greater understanding and treatment options.

“NF is incurable, but now there is hope for a better tomorrow and more treatments soon,” Renee adds. “This is made possible thanks to companies like Essential Energy.”
