Essential Energy sparks change for communities that make a difference

12 September 2024

Essential Energy is receiving strong positive feedback on how it can support community projects that make a positive environmental and sustainable contribution.

Essential Energy Sustainability Officer Clare Loney met with members of the Wagga Wagga community on 11 September to discuss ways of funding community projects that support regional development, the environment, education, resilience, or are related to the energy transition.

“We aim to spark change by supporting communities to make a difference and provide a positive social impact for communities in regional, rural and remote NSW,” Clare says. “Our goal is to provide meaningful investment into communities, such as here in Wagga Wagga and surrounding areas.”

The community engagement comes ahead of plans to revamp the way Essential Energy supports not-for-profit organisations and community groups.

Essential Energy has previously provided more than $1 million to communities during the past five years.

More information about Essential Energy’s grants program will be available in the coming months.
