Do you enjoy working outdoors, have a good eye for detail, are happy to work alone (with the support of a great team) and like to use technology to do a great job every day?

The Asset Inspection and Compliance team manages the efficient and safe undertaking of inspection, assessment and treatment of power poles across the Essential Energy network - to ensure we continue to provide customers with safe and reliable power.

A team of internal and external trained and authorised inspectors perform a detailed examination of a pole or structure to determine its current condition and maintenance requirements in accordance with specific criteria.

Aerial inspections provide a bird's eye view of the network to identify faults or potential problems. These inspections form part of our ongoing inspection program, along with ground inspections as required. It includes identifying, categorising and recording all defects - to ensure the network is in good condition.

Asset Inspector Trainees undertake a one-year program, with a combination of structured training from our Technical Training Team, external training providers and on-the-job experience.
