Electricity network maintenance - Wallabadah

Essential Energy will soon complete maintenance and upgrade works on the electricity network that supplies power to the Wallabadah area.

The work includes the replacement of electricity network components which are nearing end of life, including 14 high voltage power poles, 21 pole crossarms and various other network components, along with more than 3 kilometres of high voltage powerline throughout Wallabadah.

The works will improve the resilience of the network, and ensure it remains safe and reliable for the community, while minimising the risk of equipment failure and unplanned power outages for customers.

Essential Energy planning

Significant planning has been undertaken to minimise the inconvenience of these maintenance works on customers however, given the scale and complexity of the works, some premises, including yours, will be affected by up to four planned power outages to allow crews to safely complete the tasks.

We will be bringing in crews from Tamworth, Quirindi and Barraba to complete this large-scale project.

Planned power outages

Customers will receive Essential Energy’s standard outage notification, confirming the dates and times of outages affecting them, closer to the outage dates.

The scheduled works are reliant on suitable weather conditions and may be postponed if the conditions are unfavourable or we experience any other unforeseen circumstances.

Customer planning

Customers are encouraged to make alternative arrangements if they require power during the period of a planned power outage and to seek advice from their general practitioner about options if power is required to operate medical equipment.

Essential Energy appreciates that the planned outages may cause inconvenience for some homes and businesses, however the works are necessary to ensure a safe and reliable electricity network for your community and you.

Thank you for your understanding.
