Our team has more than 25 years’ experience in building, maintaining and operating telecommunication towers, power poles and large fibre networks across our footprint area. We have a strong presence in our regional communities with extensive assets to support telecommunication infrastructure at an optimised cost and rapid delivery.
We’re proud to support the growth of industry, including the 5G network, through our continuous expansion of the fibre network. Our power poles also offer the opportunity to build to requirements including IOT network expansion and play a key role in SMART City deployment.
Radio and Telecommunication sites
Our specialised team have a wealth of knowledge in building, maintaining, and operating over 170 radio sites across the Essential Energy footprint. This footprint extends into regional and remote areas where we provide access to our radio towers, as well as secure land for pole and cabinet installations that can be used to service areas which previously wouldn’t have been viable for mobile telecommunications. New and existing customers are now able to enquire about access to our telecommunication sites across our network.

Poles and streetlights
Essential Energy is now offering access to our power poles and streetlights for the hosting of communication equipment. Our specialist team are here to approve installations of small cells (5G), CCTV, communication equipment and monitoring services on Essential Energy pole assets.
The opportunities are endless across our 1.4 million poles and/or streetlights with the introduction of smart cities, advanced technology and monitoring installations, which keep communities connected and safe across regional and remote areas.
Our telecom munitions team are in the unique position to play a key enablement role to unlock value and connect communities in a safe and cost-effective manner.

Fibre
Providing faster and more reliable communication options for customers, fibre enables many benefits including greater levels of data delivery. We have deployed more than 1,350 kilometres of fibre across the Essential Energy network, with more than 50 per cent of the dark fibre cores available for customers to access.
