SMS planned power outage notifications

At Essential Energy we look after the poles and wires that deliver electricity to 95% of New South Wales and parts of southern Queensland. To look after more than 1.3 million power poles and 180,000 kms of powerlines in our electricity network we may need to schedule planned power outages. This allows our field crews and contractors to carry out the work in a safe environment. We know these disruptions to your power supply can be inconvenient, so we now offer SMS notifications for planned power outages.

To receive planned power outage notifications via SMS from Essential Energy please ensure your mobile number is registered with your electricity retailer. Customers without a mobile telephone number will continue to receive planned outage notifications via letter. Your retailer contact number will be on your latest electricity bill.
