Discipline: Business
Position: Procurement Graduate
Degree: Bachelor of Business or equivalent

Come and join our Procurement team and hone your procurement skills in a commercial environment where you will have the opportunity to work with a wide variety of stakeholders across a business with a base of 3,000 suppliers, spending over $500M per year and striving to make every dollar count. You will be involved in working with our operational team that look after our high-volume service transactions for over 2,000 employees, strategic multi-million dollar negotiations and a variety of key business improvement projects around risk, sustainability and service improvement.

In this position you will gain first-hand knowledge of our supply chain and an understanding of how our business strategy connects with the global and local supply base to deliver our services to regional customers. You will acquire a well-rounded understanding of how procurement works in a business such as Essential Energy, arming you with the knowledge, skills and good procurement practices that are transferable across the business and in everyday life.

Position: Data Graduate (multiple positions)
Degree: Bachelor of Data Science, Computer Science, Information Technology, Mathematics, Machine Learning Engineering or a related degree

Position: Regulatory Analyst Graduate
Degree: Bachelor of Economics or equivalent

As part of the Regulatory Affairs team, you will research and learn how the regulatory framework is put together, as well as understand how Essential Energy and its customers benefit from how schemes are set up to get better outcomes for the business and participate in reviews as they arise.

This role presents a fantastic opportunity to join the energy sector that is currently undergoing massive transformation. It is an exciting time to be in the industry and part of the regulation of the industry. This is a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same, you will have exposure to all the different activities that this team is involved in.

Discipline: Electrical Engineering
Position: Electrical Engineering Graduate (multiple positions)
Degree: Bachelor of Engineering (major in Electrical Engineering)

As a graduate engineer with Essential Energy you’ll be able to build the brightest future with us. You’ll rotate throughout the organisation, working with industry experts, having a direct impact on the energy transition to renewables by providing great outcomes to customers in regional NSW.

You’ll be part of a program with Engineers Australia and have mentorship from within Essential Energy to develop and reach your goals. Your ability to take advantage of a fast-paced environment in varied parts of the business will build your technical expertise and professional networks ensuring great opportunities now and in the future.

Discipline: Finance
Position: Finance Graduate (multiple positions)
Degree: Bachelor of Business (major in Accounting, Economics or Finance) or equivalent

Our Group Financial Control Finance team has three streams - Financial Accounting, Corporate Finance and Financial Planning & Analysis. As a graduate, you will have the opportunity to rotate through all of the three streams, as well as the Finance Business Partnering team, to give you the opportunity to gain well-rounded experience in all aspects of the finance field.

You will be involved in tasks such as financial journals and reconciliations, compiling financial reports, preparing tax calculations, data analysis, cashflow and Treasury and budgeting and forecasting. Throughout your time as a graduate, you will learn the full end-to-end finance process. No two days are the same in this team with processes constantly evolving, you will have ample opportunity to grow and develop your skillset and explore a variety of finance roles in order to determine your best fit.

Discipline: Human Resources
Position: Human Resources Graduate
Degree: Bachelor of Business (major in Human Resources)

As a Human Resources Graduate, you will work as part of a supportive team that plays an integral role in influencing and shaping our organisation’s culture by working on human resources initiatives and supporting our business across the spectrum of People and Safety activities. Each day brings an opportunity to grow, you will work on a range of projects from how to best utilise Human Resources technologies and tools to working with managers to improve processes and support our organisation in being the best that we can be.

You will undertake a wide variety of duties including administrative and people-orientated tasks, giving you the opportunity to hone your Human Resources skills, while having an excellent view of how all areas of our organisation work.

Discipline: Information Technology
Position: Cyber Operations Graduate
Degree: Bachelor of Information Technology

As a Graduate within our Cyber Operations team, you will work with the security operations team to identify and assess security threats and advise on how Essential Energy responds to these threats. You will work with the organisation to support the digital change in a safe and secure way.

You will also work very closely on a variety of large projects, identifying risks and ensuring the right measures are in place to support the projects, as well as the business-as-usual matters. This role offers diversity and challenges on a daily basis, as well as ample opportunity for career growth and development.

Position: Junior Architect Graduate
Degree: Bachelor of Information Technology

The role of Junior Architect Graduate is an ideal opportunity for someone who is interested in the digital change that is happening in the energy industry and would like to not only learn about the change and how it is applied, but also be close to the forefront of that. You will see how technology is systematically put together and used across the business and come to understand business needs and how technology fits with that, while gaining the skills and knowledge needed to go out in the business to consult and advise.

You will assist in administrating the Architecture working group, supporting reading designs, checking that all requirements for designs are met and communicating with applicants as necessary. As part of this team, you will have the opportunity of seeing all areas of the organisation in action and gain an excellent understanding of how Essential Energy works as a business.

Position: Software Development Graduate
Degree: Bachelor of Information Technology

As part of our Development Operations team, you will work on next generation customer enablement, driving digital innovation. You will work with a series of business stakeholders to drive efficiencies, deliver cost reductions and outcomes for customers and staff. You will work with a team that works horizontally, touching many parts of the business, developing solutions to solve problems and offer advice to deliver technical solutions for the organisation.

You will also be a part of a team that works to develop mobility for front-end apps and drives digital innovations for the organisation, as well as contributing to cyber safety for the business. You will have the opportunity to develop career skills, while solving real world applications and problems.

Position: Technology Platform Graduate
Degree: Bachelor of Information Technology

As a Technology Graduate focused on hosting and networking technology, your primary responsibility will be to design, implement and maintain secure, efficient and scalable hosting solutions for a variety of applications and services. You will work closely with the development teams to ensure that the hosting environment is optimised for performance, availability and cost-effectiveness, and will be responsible for monitoring and troubleshooting issues as they arise.

In addition to hosting technology, you will be involved in the implementation and management of networking infrastructure including, switches, routers, firewalls and load balancers. You will ensure that the network infrastructure is designed to meet the needs of the business and that it is secure, reliable and resilient. You will work closely with other members of the technology teams to identify areas for improvement and provide recommendations for new technologies and solutions to enhance the organisation’s capabilities.

Discipline: Legal
Position: Risk/Legal Graduate
Degree: Bachelor of Accounting, Economics or Law or equivalent

This position will work across a variety of fields, offering an exciting opportunity to gain experience in legal, risk, insurance and property management of a large corporate property and projects portfolio. You will be part of a team providing vital advice and support to the operational business as it navigates a complex and dynamic legal, regulatory and risk environment.

This role provides interesting and varied work, with each day offering new and different challenges, as well as the opportunity to shape and drive outcomes for stakeholders in an evolving and high-profile industry.
