EV Fleet Transition

Looking to transition your fleet to electric vehicles?

As an organisation with a large fleet based across 95 per cent of NSW and parts of southern Queensland, we understand the transition to an electrified fleet is one that requires strategic and planned investment.

The NSW Government is supporting the fleet transition. For more information, visit the Electric Vehicle Fleets Incentive website.

When looking to transition your business fleet to electric, it’s important to understand the charging requirements needed to keep your fleet road ready.

There are three different levels of electric vehicle charging stations (Level 1, 2 or 3). For more information about the type of charges and the location of existing charges, visit our Install an EV charger page.

Charging your fleet

If you are switching your fleet wholly or in part to electric vehicles, then having appropriate charging capacity on-site makes good business sense. Your Fleet Transition Strategy should determine the required charging profiles for your fleet and the charging type/s to suit. For example: you can choose to install Level 3 fast-chargers to enable quick charging for multiple vehicles; Level 2 chargers that will charge over a longer time period or overnight; or a combination of both.

Depending on the type of charger you choose to install, you may need to update your current connection offer with us. This is done via your electrician and by submitting a new Connections application with the new load (Amps) required for your premises.

If you would like information on how to transition your fleet, please email us at EVs@essentialenergy.com.au or fill in our online enquiry form.
