By completing our Mechanical Fleet Technician Apprenticeship, you will gain the qualifications, skills and experience to become a Mechanical Fleet Technician. As part of the Fleet Team, you will help to maintain, deliver and support the mobile and fixed fleet assets that our field crews use to maintain safe and reliable power across 95 per cent of New South Wales.
The four-year apprenticeship combines formal TAFE training with on-the-job experience. Based in state-of-the-art workshops, you will work on a variety of fleet assets, including heavy vehicles, elevated work platforms, mobile cranes, heavy and light vehicles, and electric vehicles.
What do you learn and what qualifications will you gain?
You will have access to the latest training to ensure your skills and knowledge are at the forefront of the industry. You will complete a Certificate III in Mobile Plant Technology, which includes subjects in hydraulics, electrical components, operation, and work health and safety - a strong foundation to power your career.
You will work in a team of qualified and highly skilled Mechanical Fleet Technicians who are passionate about safety, and ensuring the fleet is maintained at the highest level. You will gain valuable on-the-job training in the areas of plant safety practices, and the operation and maintenance of heavy plant equipment.
